At Agromillora, we are committed to Society and the Planet to continue developing the Sustainable, Efficient Agriculture of the Future

We have therefore identified the following pillars for developing our Sustainability strategy

These pillars are aligned with the concept of ESG (Environment-Social-Governance) factors and the GRI-GSSB (Global Reporting Initiative – Global Sustainability Standards Board) standard.

In July 2021, Agromillora also became a participating member of the United Nations Global Compact to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We’ve created a corporate sustainability committee to lead the integration of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development in our activities, products, and operations as a fundamental strategy for our organization.

The Corporate Sustainability Committee is composed of Senior Management representing different areas, and it is led by the Corporate Sustainability Director.

The committee’s primary role is to lead the strategic development of sustainability in both the organization and the interrelation with the Environment, Society, and stakeholders.

To carry out the sustainability strategy, we have identified the different stakeholders relevant to our activity, as well as the fundamental issues for our organization within each of these strategic pillars.

  • Developing the principles, coverage, and management approaches for each material issue identified
  • Establishing and validating the commitments, policies, objectives, and indicators for each material issue.
  • Ensuring that those responsible for each aspect of the strategy have adequate resources to achieve the goals set
  • Tracking the specific actions for each material issue identified (processes, programs, initiatives, projects…)
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the sustainability strategy
  • Ensuring that sustainability-related non-conformity or complaint processes are effective and efficient.

We’ve carried out various surveys and market research with the various stakeholders, and we have determined the significance and prioritization of the material issues that will make up our sustainability strategy on a 2030 horizon.

Materiality Analysis

We’ve carried out an analysis and review of the significance of material issues using a double materiality value-impact methodology, where we evaluate the sustainability issues that influence the company’s value (of particular relevance for investors, capital markets, and creditors). We also assess the impacts on the economy, the environment, and individuals.

Regarding material issues, we’re determining their coverage (location and involvement in the identified impacts) and the different management approaches of each material issue, determining policies, commitments, objectives and goals, the responsible parties, resources, specific actions and performance, etc.

 

This way, we’re building our sustainability strategy by covering the fundamental aspects and the relevant stakeholders according to GRI.
