40 Years taking agriculture further

Celebrating Agromillora’s 40th anniversary is, above all, an invitation to look back with pride and move forward with ambition. Over these four decades, we have grown from a small company in the Penedès region—born out of a passion for agriculture and innovation—into a global benchmark in plant propagation technologies and in promoting more efficient, sustainable, and competitive agricultural models.
Today, we operate 12 production subsidiaries around the world, are present in more than 45 markets, and bring together a community of over 1,700 people who share a common purpose, knowledge, and commitment. Every step of this expansion has been guided by the same conviction: to take agriculture further through knowledge and technology. As the company’s founders reflected in its very name, the “improvement” (mejora, Agromillora) of agriculture has been at the core of our purpose from the very beginning.
Our story is also the story of a sector—agriculture—that has undergone rapid transformation in recent decades. Since 1986, it has experienced an extraordinary leap forward through the incorporation of technology. One single fact illustrates the magnitude of this global evolution: from 1986 to today, agricultural productivity worldwide has increased to the point where the amount of farmland required per person has dropped from 1 hectare to 0.59 hectares

We like to think that Agromillora has contributed, within its field, to this agricultural revolution. One clear example was the introduction of the hedgerow system in olive growing, later extended to almonds and other fruit crops. Many initially saw it as a risky bet, but today it is a well-established reality that has enabled thousands of farmers to produce more with fewer resources, improve profitability, and adapt to an uncertain climatic and economic context. This ability to anticipate, explore new paths, and collaborate with growers, research centers, and universities has always been at the heart of Agromillora.

But an anniversary is not only a moment to look back—it is, above all, a commitment. A commitment to continue promoting smart agriculture, capable of integrating technology, genetics, and sustainability to respond to ever-growing challenges. A commitment to continue supporting those who work the land, listening to their needs, and providing real, practical solutions.

We are turning 40, yes. But what truly matters is that we continue to look to the future with the same energy with which we began.
